LACEY, Wash. (AP) — The former executive of the Lacey Chamber of Commerce has pleaded guilty to stealing $18,000 from the organization.
The Olympian reports that (http://bit.ly/ozGVoW ) a judge sentenced 43-year-old Jenny Thorsell to 45 days of home monitoring on Wednesday.
Charging papers say the $18,000 include more than $8,000 Thorsell spent at the Red Wind and Tulalip casinos using a chamber credit card.
Thorsell has been ordered to pay the chamber $17,188.56 in restitution.
Thorsell’s attorney John Sinclair says she can only leave her home for reasons related to caring for her two young children.
The Thurston County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Thorsell with first-degree theft in March.
