A Battle Ground woman told investigators she shot her boyfriend early Tuesday after he hit her, according to court documents filed Wednesday.
Michele R. Gramckow, 41, was arrested Tuesday and made her first appearance Wednesday in Clark County Superior Court on suspicion of one count of first-degree assault, domestic violence.
The victim, Rick Stanfill, 52, suffered a gunshot wound to his cheek and the back of his head, where the bullet exited, according to a deputy prosecutor. He was taken to Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center on Tuesday morning and transferred to OHSU Hospital in Portland later that day, the prosecutor said.
Stanfill was listed in fair condition Wednesday at OHSU Hospital, spokeswoman Elisa Williams said.
Judge John Wulle set bail at $200,000 and appointed attorney Robert Vukanovich to represent her.
Arraignment is set for Oct. 5.
According to court documents, Gramckow told investigators she was out drinking with Stanfill, her boyfriend, before the incident.
