OCEAN SHORES, Wash. (AP) — The Coast Guard reports that a 52-foot wooden fishing vessel that lost power and ran aground at Ocean Shores, Wash., is breaking up in the surf. The crew of three was rescued after the grounding Wednesday night.

The Coast Guard says the Dare II had an estimated 50 to 80 gallons of fuel on board and a light sheen is reported extending a mile north of the vessel. A debris field is scattered in the water.

The Washington Ecology Department has hired a company to clean debris from the beach and the state Natural Resources Department has hired a salvage company to assess removal of the vessel.
