TOKYO (AP) — Third-seeded Victoria Azarenka of Belarus made short work of Irina-Camelia Begu on Tuesday, beating the Romanian 6-1, 6-3 in the second round of the Pan Pacific Open.

Azarenka, winner of two WTA Tour titles this season, closed out the match 1 hour, 15 minutes under clear skies at Ariake Colosseum, a day after rain forced the closure of the roof and disrupted play on the outer courts for several hours.

In other second-round matches, ninth seed Agnieskza Radwanska of Poland downed qualifier Angelique Kerber of Germany 3-6, 6-3, 6-3, while 13th seed Julia Goerges of Germany beat Greta Arn of Hungary, 6-2, 6-1.

Shuai Peng of China beat American qualifier Jill Craybas 6-2, 6-0, and unseeded American Christina McHale defeated Tamira Paszek of Austria, 7-6 (1), 6-3 in first-round matches.
