Albany State tops Kentucky State 51-37

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Albany State used two early turnovers to build a 13-point lead over Kentucky State, then won a wild shootout in the fourth quarter for a 51-37 victory Saturday in a Circle City Classic game between two NCAA Division II schools.

With quarterbacks Jerrel Noland of Kentucky State and Stanley Jennings of Albany State combining for 613 passing yards, the teams compiled 773 yards of offense and 12 touchdowns.

Noland was 36 for 65 for 433 yards and three touchdowns; Jennings 9 for 27 for 180.

Nathan Hoyte rushed 14 times for 104 yards for Albany State (3-2, 0-2 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference).

The Thorobreds (4-1, 2-0) outscored Kentucky State 28-18 in the fourth quarter, which featured three touchdowns in a 2:22 span, three more in 2:37 and back-to-back kickoff returns of over 89 yards.
