PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The opera singer wounded in a mysterious shooting on I-205 in Portland remains in critical condition.

The mother of 29-year-old Brian Tierney told The Oregonian (http://is.gd/fY0YRT ) Thursday his condition is described as stable and the family is encouraged.

Tierney was found bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds on the side of I-205 early on March 28. He had left choir practice at a northeast Portland church and was on his way home when he was shot. Police have made no arrests.

Tierney has performed as an alternate tenor singer with the Portland Opera. He has sung with various musical groups throughout the Portland area.
