Brent Sutter to coach Canada at worlds

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — Brent Sutter will be Canada’s head coach at the world hockey championships.

Sutter was hired one day after he parted with the Calgary Flames after three seasons as their coach.

Tampa Bay Lightning coach Guy Boucher, and Kirk Muller, coach of the Carolina Hurricanes, will be Sutter’s assistants.

The world championships are May 4-20 in Helsinki and Stockholm. Canada will play all its games in Helsinki, and opens against Slovakia on May 4.
