COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A hard rain chased everybody indoors, but didn’t put a damper on Ohio State students’ enthusiasm as more than 3,000 showed up to watch the Buckeyes go through drills Saturday.

The workout was shifted from Ohio Stadium to inside the Woody Hayes football facility. Those with an Ohio State student ID were permitted to sit on the field while the Buckeyes scrimmaged. During placement kicks late in practice, coach Urban Meyer allowed the crowd to surround the play — almost like the gallery on the final hole of the British Open.

Afterward, hundreds had their pictures taken with the Buckeyes. Meyer was nearly mobbed.

With a week left in spring practices, he and his staff still are trying to develop viable threats on the outside in the passing game.
