PORT ANGELES, Wash. (AP) — One of Holland America’s larger cruise ships came to shore in Port Angeles this week and the 950-foot ship received a warm welcome similar to the ceremony given to tribal canoes that make summer landings at the port.

The Peninsula Daily News (http://is.gd/IVOsGw) reports the nearly 2,000 passengers were welcomed Wednesday by about 100 civic leaders and community members.

More than a dozen Lower Elwha Klallam tribal members preformed traditional songs and dances as the passengers disembarked.
