COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Most of his assistants don’t notice much change from the intense, driven coach they used to work with or have only heard about.
Yet Urban Meyer says he’s healthy and doing fine a few months into his first year as Ohio State’s coach.
He had left his job in Florida in December of 2010 saying that health and family reasons forced him to step aside. A year spent as a television analyst only caused him to pine for a return to the sidelines.
Now at Ohio State doing what he most likes to do — implementing a fast-paced offense, recruiting superior athletes — he again feels like his old self.
Judging from the reaction of fans and students, he’s found a home.
