Battle Ground police have investigated a man who posted photos on Facebook of himself holding a dead cat and another photo of him holding both a handgun and infant.

According to a news release from the Battle Ground Police Department, several people, including a TV news reporter, contacted police about the photos.

Police then questioned the man and discovered the cat had been euthanized on a farm in Yacolt two years ago due to medical issues. Also, the photo of the infant was taken a year ago and the handgun was unloaded, according to the press release.

“The subject has cooperated fully with the investigation and acknowledges that posting the pictures on Facebook was a poor decision,” the press release said.

Reports were forwarded to the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office for review of any possible charges.
