Small plane hits photographer at Tigard air strip

TIGARD, Ore. (AP) — A small plane landing at an air strip in Tigard struck a photographer on the ground Sunday with a wing and knocked him unconscious.

The Washington County sheriff’s office says emergency responders took the the photographer, 64-year-old Danny Oothoudt of Gresham, to Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland where he was listed in stable condition.

The sheriff’s office says the pilot, 59-year-old Timothy Akers of Portland, struck the photographer while taxiing his ultra-light kit plane on the private grass runway.
