BOSTON (AP) — Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia was ejected in the top of the ninth inning Tuesday night in a game against the Texas Rangers.

Pedroia was ejected by first base umpire Paul Nauert, who had called him out on a check swing in the bottom of the eighth. Pedroia walked down the line about halfway to argue and continued to yell from the dugout, but wasn’t ejected until the first batter reached for Texas in the ninth.

Pedroia was replaced by Pedro Ciriaco.
