BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (AP) — St. Kitts Olympic officials say a drug taken by one its sprinters was a stimulant called “Blast Off Red,” which is used to increase performance in animals.

Sprinter Tameka Williams was sent home from the Olympics after team officials said she had been taking a banned substance.

Team manager Lester Hanley says that when Williams arrived at the athletes village on July 21, “she confirmed to us voluntarily that she had taken a substance. … The name of the substance is ‘Blast Off Red.'”

Williams, who had been scheduled to run in the 100 and 200 meters, did not fail a doping test but could still face a two-year ban.
