NEW YORK (AP) — Philadelphia pitcher Gabriel Bermudez and Atlanta pitcher Darrel Leiva have been suspended for 50 games each following positive tests under the minor league drug program.
Major League Baseball said Friday that Bermudez, who is on the Venezuelan Summer League Phillies, tested positive for metabolites of Stanozolol.
Darrel Leiva, a member of the Dominican Summer League Braves, tested positive for metabolites of Nandrolone and metabolites of Stanozolol.
There have been 68 suspensions this year under the minor league program — including 10 this week — and three under the major league plan; Giants pitcher Guillermo Mota, Phillies infielder Freddy Galvis and free agent outfielder Marlon Byrd.
