LONDON (AP) — The head of basketball’s governing body doesn’t foresee an age limit for the 2016 Olympics.
FIBA secretary general Patrick Baumann said Saturday his feeling is that an under-23 policy limit for men probably won’t be proposed for the Rio Games.
The NBA has said it may favor Olympic basketball using a model like soccer, in which teams are made up of players 23 and younger, with three roster exceptions for older players.
If the rule was changed, LeBron James says he wouldn’t play for the U.S. men’s team, even if he got an exception.
