Due to the heat wave hittingClark County, with temperatures expected to reach close to 100 degrees, the Camas-Washougal Fire Department will be opening a fire hose sprinkler for kids at Hamllik Park, 4285 Addy St., in Washougal today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In addition, Camas Fire Station 42, located at 4321 N.W. Parker St., will have its air conditioned community room available today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A refrigerated drinking fountain and bathrooms are also available.

In a press reslease, CFD officials recommended citizens stay hydrated during increased temperatures, and to pay particular attention to the safety of at risk populations, such as the elderly and children. Such at risk populations should stay in air conditioned environments whenever possible during high heat.
