LONDON (AP) — Partially paralyzed marathon participant Claire Lomas has lit the Paralympic cauldron in central London.
It’s one of a slew of events meant to mark the Paralympic Games across the British capital.
Prime Minister David Cameron addressed the crowd gathered at London’s Trafalgar Square just before the cauldron was lit by Lomas on Friday.
He says that London, which has already seen a successful Olympic Games, could look forward to “two more weeks of spectacular sport.”
