LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Kansas has suspended starting longsnapper Justin Carnes for the first three games of the season because of a violation of team rules.

No details of the violation were mentioned in a statement released Saturday by Jayhawks coach Charlie Weiss.

Carnes was the Kansas snapper for extra points and field goals in 10 of 12 games last season.
