A 23-year-old woman said sun glare prevented her from seeing a bicyclist she hit Wednesday night, according to a Vancouver police bulletin.

Alyson Chilson was driving her car west on East 45th Street about a block west of Main Street around 6:30 p.m. She turned south into the Pacific Point Apartments and hit John Chaffers, 58, who was on his bicycle passing the entrance to the complex, police said.

Chilson told police she could not see Chaffers because of sun glare. Chauffers had a laceration on his head and minor cuts and scrapes. He refused medical attention, according to police.
