The co-owner of Washougal Sport & Spine Physical Therapy has become a national certified sports specialist.

Kimberly Williams, of Camas, recently passed the American Board of Physical Therapy Sports Specialty Examination.

Sports physical therapy focuses on prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation and performance of physically-active individuals. Williams is the only physical therapist in Clark County who has earned this credential. She is one of 60 individuals in the U.S. who passed the board exam this year.

Williams specializes in custom foot orthotics. Washougal Sport and Spine Physical Therapy also treats post-surgical rehabilitation, back pain, motor vehicle accidents, neck pain, headaches and balance/fall prevention.

The business, co-owned by Steve McCarthy, recently expanded to include a second location at Lacamas Swim & Sport, 2950 N.W. 38th Ave., Camas.

Washougal Sport & Spine, also located in the Washougal Town Square, 1700 Main St., Ste. 222, has a contract with the Camas School District to provide athletic training services for students.

“We also volunteer at many of the school sporting events to provide coverage,” said McCarthy, of Camas. “This new location will make it convenient to work with athletes and parents alike.”
