CLEVELAND (AP) — Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao has left Friday’s game against Milwaukee because of an apparent injury to his left ankle.

Varejao, the league’s leading rebounder, landed awkwardly while trying to get a rebound in the second quarter. He limped down the floor and was immediately replaced by Tyler Zeller. Varejao sat on the bench briefly and went to the locker room, accompanied by trainer Max Benton.

Varejao, who is making a strong bid to be on the Eastern Conference All-Star team, is averaging 14.3 points and 14.8 rebounds.
