Longwood dominates Southern Virginia 103-84

FARMVILLE, Va. (AP) — Antwan Carter led six players in double figures with 26 points and 14 rebounds as Longwood beat Southern Virginia 103-84 on Thursday night, snapping a two game losing streak.

David Robinson had 20, Tristan Carey 16, Martiz Washington 15, Jeremiah Bowman 12 and Jan Van Der Kooij added 10 for the Lancers (8-14) who shot 63 percent (34 of 54) from the field.

Southern Virginia (9-9) held a 16-12 lead midway through the first half before the Lancers reeled off four straight 3-pointers and Carter made a bucket to take a 26-18 lead.

Southern Virginia cut the lead to five, 26-21, but Longwood used a 25-12 run to take a 51-33 lead into halftime.

Washington and Van Der Kooij each hit three 3-pointers, and Longwood shot 12 of 20 from deep.

Longwood had five players in double-figures at halftime while Justin Langford (18 points) was the lone Knight above 10.
