PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A day after chain link fencing was removed from two downtown Portland parks following repairs after last fall’s lengthy Occupy Portland encampment, a new tent has appeared.
The Oregonian reports a small group of people set up a tent late Friday night in one of the parks.
Police Lt. Robert King said his officers would enforce park rules.
Mayor Sam Adams has said he won’t allow protesters to camp at any city park based on his experience that the encampments “become inherently dangerous.”
Occupy Portland demonstrators occupied the two parks for more than a month until police evicted them on Nov. 13.
