Sabres’ Ruff won’t be behind bench against Bruins

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Injured Buffalo Sabres coach Lindy Ruff won’t be behind the team’s bench for Wednesday’s game against the Boston Bruins.

Assistant James Patrick will assume Ruff’s duties as head coach. Patrick normally oversees the defensemen.

Patrick also said Wednesday that Ruff was hoping to be at the game, and will either watch live from the press box or in his office on television.
