YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — Successful bank robbers know there’s a limited window of time before police show up.
Yakima, Wash., police say a man who demanded money from a Chase Bank branch Thursday afternoon threw the money on the counter and demanded more.
Since bank employees had triggered a silent alarm, Yakima officers showed up and surrounded the bank. The man spotted police and tried to flee, leaving the money behind, but he was arrested.
Lt. Tom Foley says 48-year-old Steve William Chandler was booked into the Yakima County Jail.
