Hall gives Oilers OT win over Senators

OTTAWA (AP) — Taylor Hall scored 17 seconds into overtime and the Edmonton Oilers snapped a two-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.

Hall backhanded a rebound past Craig Anderson for his 19th goal as Edmonton improved to 5-2-1 in its last eight games.

Magnus Paajarvi scored his first goal of the season and assisted on Shawn Horcoff’s tally 42 seconds into the third. Horcoff also assisted on Hall’s goal.

Nikolai Khabibulin made 39 saves, and Ben Eager also scored for Edmonton.

Erik Karlsson had a goal and an assist for Ottawa, and Jason Spezza had two assists. Daniel Alfredsson and Milan Michalek also scored for the Senators, who have lost eight of nine (1-7-1).

Anderson stopped 36 shots in his NHL-leading 50th start this season.
