MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — Police in Medford say they fired shots at a fleeing vehicle, and after it crashed the driver was taken to the hospital.

The Mail Tribune reported Monday (http://bit.ly/As0ULX ) there was no immediate word on the condition of the driver.

Police say the vehicle was seen in Gold Hill with a man slumped over the steering wheel, and when police saw the vehicle later in Medford it sped away.

Police said they tried to hit the tires of the Jeep, and it crashed near the Medford Airport.
