YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) — Darrell Lampley scored 21 points and Eastern Michigan used a 15-0 run late in the game to overtake Northern Illinois 48-45 on Wednesday night.
Derek Thompson added 10 points for the Eagles (12-16, 7-6), the Mid-American West Division leaders, who snapped a two-game slide. Lampley also had team highs of five assists and three steals.
Tony Nixon and Abdel Nader scored 10 points apiece for the Huskies (3-23, 2-11), who dropped their fourth in a row and fell to 0-12 on the road. Nadel’s seven rebounds led Northern Illinois to a 42-28 edge on the boards.
After a 22-22 halftime tie, the Huskies started the second half with a 14-2 surge. But with the score 39-26, Eastern Michigan reeled off the next 15 points, holding Northern Illinois scoreless for 9:06.
The Eagles swept the season series, having won 47-40 on Jan. 7 in DeKalb.
