JYVASKYLA, Finland (AP) — Swiss teen Cyrill Hunziker won the first slopestyle event in the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup on Saturday.
Nineteen-year-old Hunziker scored 94.8 points in the second of two runs in the men’s event, beating Finland’s Antti-Jussi Kemppainen with 92.4 points. Per Kristian Hunder of Norway was third.
Norway’s Linn-Ida Murud won the women’s event with 86.4 points from the second run, rallying after scoring 47 on the first. Eveline Bhend of Switzerland was second with 85.8 and Slovakia’s Natalia Slepecka finished third.
Slopestyle is an adventurous form of freestyle snowboard and will feature at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
