Letter: Timing of pump hikes suspicious

The Columbian
Published: February 24, 2012, 4:00pm

Isn’t it strange that the price of gas is going up so fast this year? And that the Republicans, who excused George W. Bush from responsibility for high gas prices because he didn’t have control over the world’s energy prices, now blame President Obama for the price raises?

Oh, wait, the oil companies, who were protected by the Republicans from losing the government subsidies to their obscene profits, are the ones raising the prices. In an election year. Gee, do you think they are on the side of those giving them more of our money? Ya think?
