Letter: More taxes = less middle class

The Columbian
Published: February 29, 2012, 12:00am

The Feb. 23 story reported “Sales tax hike to aid public health?” Apparently our “leaders” think that we the people are wealthy and have lots of money in our pockets that they want or need. More taxes just make us middle class folks no longer middle class but forced to join the ranks of the “poor” and therefore need public money. The more that you take from those of us who can manage or try to live on our income, the more we become one of the needy thanks to our elected officials.
