Lipscomb defeats Jacksonville 77-71

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Jordan Burgason scored 17 points and Lipscomb defeated Jacksonville 77-71 on Monday night.

With it tied at 38 at halftime, Lipscomb (7-8, 2-1 Atlantic Sun Conference) opened the second half on a 15-2 run. The Bison outscored the Dolphins 39-33 in the second half to snap an eight-game road losing skid and win their first game in five tries.

Deonte Alexander added 14 points, Zavion Williams 12 and Jacob Arnett 10 for the Bison. Justin Glenn chipped in 10 rebounds as Lipscomb outrebounded Jacksonville 37-33.

The two teams were just about even from the field — Jacksonville going 28 of 62, and Lipscomb 24 of 53 — but the Dolphins made just 8 of 16 free throws compared to 20 of 24 for the Bison.

Keith McDougald scored 16 points, Glenn Powell 14, Tevin Galvin 13 and Delwan Graham 10 for the Dolphins (2-11, 0-2), who lost their ninth straight.
