Letter: Hoops and red tape never cease

The Veterans Affairs regional office in Seattle needs to be exposed by a veteran like me — a 100 percent disabled veteran.

March 27, 2012, will mark 50 years fighting for my rights.

The way the United States military looks at veterans is if they were injured, wounded, etc., in combat, and if it was in your medical records, you became entitled to compensation.

Veterans have had to hire lawyers to fight for their cause, and usually pay out at least 20 percent of what that veteran is entitled to once payment is made by the government.

Veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder veterans are constantly re-evaluated to determine whether to lower the veterans disability payment.

I worked as a volunteer on the information desk at the VA clinic in Vancouver for over nine years.

Who will step up and look at what is really going on?
