Lane County man dead in gun accident

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (AP) — Authorities in Lane County say it appears a 20-year-old man has been killed by an accidental shot from a gun his younger brother was holding.

KVAL-TV (http://bit.ly/yQ9xNl ) reports the victim was identified as 20-year-old Steven Ogg. The brother, described as a juvenile, was not named.

A statement from the sheriff’s office says the shooting happened Tuesday afternoon. It says Ogg was shot in the chest.
