Police ask for help finding missing woman

Vancouver police are asking the public to help find Ariana McGuckin, a 20-year-old woman who has autism and has been missing since Monday.

About 11:30 a.m. Monday, McGuckin went for a walk around her home in the Cimarron neighborhood and has not returned, according to a bulletin from the Vancouver Police Department. That neighborhood is off Northeast 162nd Avenue north of Fisher’s Landing.

She doesn’t have a car or cell phone, and her parents found a note saying she was going to take a bus to Indiana. However, bus stations have found no record of her buying a ticket, the bulletin said.

Police say McGuckin has a mental capacity between 7 and 12 years old and has not taken her medication for two weeks.

She is outgoing and trusts strangers she meets, has shown a lack of safety around strangers and can be manipulated.

When last seen, she wore red hat with a “running hatchet man” printed on it, a large red longsleeved sweatshirt and blue jeans. She wears glasses, has short black hair and is balding on the right side of her head.

She goes by Ari.

Anyone who sees her or knows where she is should call 911 immediately, police said.
