PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Fuquan Edwin scored a career-high 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Jordan Theodore made clutch shots down the stretch to lift Seton Hall past Providence 66-57 on Saturday night.

Theodore had been quiet all game, but he came up big when the Pirates (14-2, 3-1 Big East) needed him most. With Providence on a 10-1 run and trailing by just one with 3:23 remaining, Theodore hit a pull-up jumper and sealed the win with five free throws in the last 2:03.

Vincent Council had 23 points and nine assists for the Friars (11-6, 0-4). Gerard Coleman added 10 points.

Seton Hall led 32-29 at halftime and pulled ahead by 11 points just five minutes into the second half. Providence did not go away easily and made it a one-point game with 3:40 remaining before Theodore’s jumper sparked a 12-4 Seton Hall run to close the game.
