12 chosen to US national softball team

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Pitchers Keilani Ricketts, Jordan Taylor and Chelsea Thomas are among a dozen players who have been selected to this year’s U.S. women’s national softball team.

The Amateur Softball Association of America announced part of the roster Wednesday that will represent the U.S. at the women’s world championships and other events in 2012. Five other players will be chosen following a selection camp in June.

The position players chosen to the national team were Valerie Arioto, Kaitlin Cochran, Lauren Gibson, Ashley Holcombe, Molly Johnson, Jenae Leles, Stacy May-Johnson, Michelle Moultrie and Rhea Taylor.
