Update at 7:45 p.m: A nursing supervisor said Cody remains in critical condition.

Update: At 3:10 p.m. Monday, hospital officials said Cody remained in critical condition.

Cody Sherrell, the 14-year-old boy who collapsed and suffered cardiac arrest during basketball practice at La Center Middle School last week, is still listed in critical condition at Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel in Portland, hospital officials said Monday.

“The doctors are still doing everything humanly possible to support Cody’s life,” Sherrell’s family said in a statement on Monday. “At this point it is up to God what will happen to Cody. Cody’s parents just want what is ultimately best for him. The family is very thankful for the outpouring of support from the community towards them.”
