ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Long snapper Lonie Paxton isn’t at the Denver Broncos’ practice for a second straight day.

Coach John Fox said Paxton was excused from Wednesday’s workout for personal reasons. The 12th-year pro was also absent from the 20-minute portion of practice that was open to the media Thursday.

It wasn’t clear who would work with kicker Matt Prater and holder/punter Britton Colquitt at practice. Right guard Chris Kuper used to be the backup long snapper but he broke his left leg two weeks ago and was placed on injured reserve.

The Broncos (9-8) have a walkthrough practice Friday before flying out for their AFC divisional playoff against the New England Patriots (13-3) on Saturday night.

Paxton spent his first nine pro seasons with the Patriots before joining the Broncos in 2009.
