NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) — Jeromie Hill scored 16 points and UTSA hit 7 of 13 3-point attempts en route to a 59-52 victory over Stephen F. Austin on Saturday.

Melvin Johnson III added 10 points for the Roadrunners (10-7, 3-1 Southland), who shot 45 percent overall from the field.

Jereal Scott had 16 points and Taylor Smith 10 for Stephen F. Austin (9-8, 3-1), which had its four-game winning streak snapped.

UTSA led 29-21 at halftime and scored the first seven points of the second half — five coming from Hill — to take its biggest lead of the game.

The Lumberjacks pulled within 53-49 on a dunk by Hal Bateman with 2:40 remaining, but UTSA’s Sei Paye answered with a 3-pointer that banked in as the shot clock expired, and the Roadrunners held on from there.
