PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for much of Oregon through Wednesday for heavy snow.
One possible exception is the Interstate 5 corridor from Portland to Eugene, where forecasters have issued a winter storm watch.
Amounts of snow will vary. Forecasters expect 1-to-3 feet of snow in the higher Cascades, 10-to-20 inches in the Coast Range, and 5-to-18 inches in much of Eastern Oregon.
Forecasters say accumulations of 1-to-4 inches of snow are possible in the Portland area, and more snow with ice are possible early Wednesday.
Forecasters say snow will impact commuters in the metro area while blowing and drifting snow will make travel difficult in eastern Oregon.
