NEW YORK (AP) — A lawyer says one of the New York City police commissioner’s sons is under investigation by prosecutors and strenuously denies any wrongdoing.

Greg Kelly’s lawyer, Andrew Lankler, didn’t immediately respond to questions Wednesday night about the focus of the Manhattan district attorney’s investigation. The DA’s office declined to comment.

The 43-year-old Kelly co-hosts “Good Day New York,” a morning television show on local Fox affiliate WNYW-TV. He is a son of Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly.

Police spokesman Paul Browne said he couldn’t comment and was referring inquiries to the DA’s office because of the potential conflict of interest.

Lankler says that Greg Kelly is cooperating with the DA’s investigation and that it will prove his innocence.

Messages left for WNYW weren’t immediately returned late Wednesday.
