ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Two people have been injured in a house explosion in Soldotna, Alaska.

KTUU reports (http://bit.ly/yxetRH) the two are being sent to Seattle for treatment of their burns.

A Central Emergency Services health and safety officer tells the television station that the home was flooded two days ago. The occupants had left the home, and the two people inside at the time of Thursday’s explosion were repair workers.

KTUU reports flames were seen shooting from an exposed gas main. The house and gas valve were damaged.

A utility company was able to shut off the gas, allowing firefighters to extinguish the flames.

The cause of the explosion was not immediately known.
