GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Jamal Webb scored 16 points and Troy Huff had 15 as North Dakota defeated New Jersey Tech 80-63 Thursday night.
Patrick Mitchell added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Fighting Sioux (9-10, 1-1 Great West), who snapped a four-game losing streak to the Highlanders. Mitchell’s two free throws in the final minute gave him 1,000 points for his career at North Dakota.
Aaron Anderson and Brandon Brekke also reached double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Anderson added a career-high eight assists while the Fighting Sioux had a season-low eight turnovers.
Isaiah Wilkerson led New Jersey Tech (9-10, 2-1) with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Ryan Woods and Chris Flores added 12 points apiece.
Wilkerson had 11 points in the opening seven minutes as the Highlanders jumped out to a 16-8 lead. But New Jersey Tech made only 3 of its next 17 shots as North Dakota grabbed a 33-25 halftime lead.
