SEATTLE (AP) — Colton Harris-Moore — the notorious “Barefoot Bandit” — is scheduled to be sentenced Friday morning in a Seattle federal court for his infamous two-year international crime spree of break-ins and boat and plane thefts.
The 20-year-old pleaded guilty last month and was sentenced for his state crimes.
Federal prosecutors had asked for a six-and-a-half year federal term to be served while he serves his state time. Harris-Moore’s attorneys had requested a federal term of less than six years.
Harris-Moore was arrested in the Bahamas in 2010 when authorities shot out the motor of a boat he stole. He arrived in the Bahamas after making a daring cross-country dash in stolen boats and cars, stealing a plane in Indiana and crash-landing it off the Caribbean islands.
