Letter: Conscience should guide your vote

The Columbian
Published: July 7, 2012, 5:00pm

I read a letter recently showing the “checkered” past of the GOP that should be considered in November. How about the Democratic Party? The party that provided an adulterous relationship in the Oval Office. The party that mismanaged a highly unpopular conflict in Vietnam. The party that supported the continuation of the bigoted segregation in this country. Shall we go further into the past?

I say forget the party, look at the positions. Look at the ideas. Look at the experience and the record. You will never find the perfect candidate; you can only support the one who most lines up with your conscience.
