OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) — Auburn University is remembering the victims of a deadly shooting near campus last weekend.

Several hundred people gathered on a campus lawn Thursday night for a candlelight vigil for the victims.

The three dead include two former Auburn football players, and current members of the team attended the vigil.

Student organizer and former softball player Morgan Murphy says emotions are raw after the slayings. She says no one expected anything like this to happen.

A suspect is in custody charged in the killings.
