Diogu leads Nigeria over Britain, 86-80

HOUSTON (AP) — Ike Diogu had 33 points and 15 rebounds to lead Nigeria to an 86-80 win over Britain in an international friendly Thursday night.

Andrew Lawrence led four British players in double figures with 19 points. Eric Boateng had 13 points, and Matt Bryan-Amaning and Joel Freeland each added 10 points.

Reserve Ade Dagundro added 13 points for Nigeria, whileTony Skinn chipped in 12 points, and Ekene Ibekwe had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Tied at 78 in overtime, Diogu hit two free throws with 1:28 left to give Nigeria the lead. After Lawrence missed a jumper, Dagundro hit a lay-up with 57 seconds left. Ibekwe then hit a slashing dunk with 34 seconds remaining to put Nigeria up 84-78.
