Letter: Coal backers’ purse is deep

The Columbian
Published: June 27, 2012, 5:00pm

Regarding the June 24 Columbian online story, “Coal clash hits close to home: Activists say promise of jobs doesn’t balance impacts on health, environment,” sorry folks, but you are going to lose this one. You are up against an incredible amount of money, which the other side can use to buy misleading advertisements and politicians (they call it campaign contributions). In our “corporatocracy,” only money matters, and the side with the most wins — remember the recent liquor sales campaign in Washington.
